new found respect...SOLDIERS!

I played Paintball with my friends just this afternoon..The game was fun, the objective was to eliminate all members of the other group using your gun powered by an airtank using paitnballs as bullets.when u get hit, u just walk away from the action and wait for the next round..at least thats the idea. I started the game by first hiding behind the positioned tires then went to the "woods" to find a more suitable hiding place..

As the game progressed, i also had several realizations of my own. i was starting to ask myself questions like, what if these are real bullets and not just paintballs..what if these are real guns powered by gun powder.what if im in a real combat situation..what if i was a soldier. then the thought of being as soldier made me laugh..because i always hear stories about how soldiers who are toughened by trainings in camps become cowards during real battles..
Being me, i continued playing..but as the action in the game became fiercer, my thoughts became harder to ignore. (what if these are real bullets and not just paintballs..what if these are real guns powered by gun powder.what if im in a real combat situation..what if i was a soldier)..

so when i got hit, i stepped back and watched my friends play and also took time to reflect on my thoughts.

i had to admit, i felt ashamed of myself for laughing at jokes pertaining to soldiers..
its not easy being them!..

imagine, i know that what we are using are only paintballs yet i still feel scared thinking about how it would feel if i got hit..the endless effort to find a good hiding place disorients me..the gun im using is not heavy im telling you but it makes moving around difficult for me.
now, how hard can that be compared to the situation our soldiers face during combats. .

i am not trying to say that we cannot criticize our brave soldiers, what im trying to say is that the next time we think of making fun or make harsh comments about soldiers, we should really stop and ask ourselves.."what have i done to have the right to dishonor soldiers?"..
because honestly, i have not done anything as noble as what soldiers are doing and will do for the remaining days of their lives..have you?

afternoon walk

i was out looking for a fun afternoon walk when i saw this huge bee standing outside this red restaurant, curious,i approached it then it came to me that i was standing outside "JOLLIBEE!!!"..i saw people enjoying their food..happily consuming their orders that was served to them by people working in that establishment..(JOLLIBEE!!!hahaha)..
.people who cant even afford to dine in their own workplace...then sumthing came up to me again..its the fact that there are thousands of employees (maybe more) are working hard in workplaces that they cant afford to be in when they are not working...
i min, there are waiters who cant even afford to dine in the restaurant they are working in....
nurses who cant afford to be patients in hospitals they work in..
teahcers who cant dend their children to schools where they teach..
security guards that cant afford to open an account in banks they work hard to protect...

come to think of it, we have always been bumped by life's injustices head on..and we hardly notice it. we tend to search outside our areas for signs of these injustices and unfairness of life while disregarding the clear manifestations of such in front of us..

maybe because of the fact that they are working while some dont even have jobs.
but dont you think its what makes their situation harder than anyone else?

the next time you try to search for places to help in easing the injustices there, look closer.
maybe the things ur looking for are just right in front of you..

and oh, the next time you dine, or do anything anywhere, take time to say thank you to those who are accommodating your needs..

the hope of the tommorow

Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan..Its a saying which means the young ones are the hope of the future. It has been an accepted idea especially here in our country that indeed, the young ones are and will be the hope of our tomorrow, but can we still say that in our world today, this idea is still possible?

It would be easier if i divide the world into two parts just for the purpose of this entry. One part is composed of the young bloods (hopes of the future) and the other is comprised of the grown-ups.

To speed things up, it would be better to point out one fact which all of us know, regardless of age and sex. It's the fact that the grown up are the ones raising the new generations or our supposedly hopes of the future. This is not something which i just created, it is true to everyone and anywhere. It is them who creates and inculcates ideas and future stands in the young ones. In short, it is the grown ups who molds the young bloods. Another fact that i would like to point out is the fact that the status quo is not created by the young ones but by the grown-ups. So whatever the condition of our world today maybe, it is because the grown-ups made it that way and no one else. Only those who are capable of deciding and taking actions can take part in the shaping of the world, no matter how indirect and how small such participation would be, it is still part of the shaping of the worlds status quo. And we have to accept the fact that today, the world is in chaos.

Now, with those simple facts in mind, can we still say that the idea of the young bloods being the hopes of the future is still possible?

Scary yet i would have to say no.

If the young bloods are the ones who will serve as the key to the brighter future for everyone, the i guess we should change the first fact i presented.( grown-ups raise and mold the young generation)For as long as the grown-ups who by the way made the world today a not so safe place to stay in stays in control over the growth of the young ones, then we will never see our idea of the children being the hope of the future materializing.

The grown-ups have made the world today a not s safe place, with the ideologies and actions it has done. The whole world is practically covered by these ill stuffs, although there are those who try to be different and try to correct whatever is wrong, the fact still remains that the world is still in chaos, which means the majority of the worlds capable thinkers and decision makers are for the ill stuffs i was talking about. We can never question the power of the majority over the minority.

How will we see the hope of the future if the people molding them are those who made the world they live in a chaotic one?. What will these young bloods grow up in, what else than an environment wherein ill ideologies are present. If these are the environmets that the young ones will grow up to, then what made you think they will grow to be different, and if ever there are those who grow up to be really different, they will still face the power of the majority or the strength of the group with the bigger number.

the olympic question

i was watching the game last night between the US basketball team versus the defending gold medalist Argentina. It started to be a dun game to watch despite USA eating the argentine team alive with their defense and offense. After minutes of basketball, Manu Ginobili, the star of the Argentina team and also a proven asset of the San antonio Spurs fell to the ground and crawled to the side with an obvious sign of pain in his face. Then i remembered hearing a news not that long ago about Manu experiencing an injury to his ankle.(i heard that the swelling to his ankle stayed and ahs been bothering him ever since.) Despite the seemingly chaotic environment in the court as millions(including those watching the games through their t.v sets) watched Manu suffer another injury, i began to ask myself---is it really worth it?

To start things up, Yao ming, a chinese basketbal superstar who has been playing in the NBA for the Houston Rockets was pulled out in the middle of the season to prepare for the Olympics wherein he would be playing for the host country China. Even before Yao started to prepare for the olympics, he has reportedly been suffering from a knee injury and that he needed to rest. Despite that fact, China still continued to push its players to prepare and win in the games.

Second, Bogut (i forgot his name) playing for the Australian basketball team sprained his ankle during the games.(not sure if it was the left or the right ankle)..ahahah!!! ANDREW!.Andrew Bogut, that's his name i just remembered. He plays center, according to the internet he has just been signed to the Milwaukee Bucks for god knows how much.

Third and lastly, the reason why this blog came to be, Manu ginobili's incident.
Manu has been playing really good for the San Antonio Spurs, where he also helped in achieving the victory in the NBA finals.

Manu, together with the other NBA and national players of different countries who are in Beijing representing their nations in basketball are all putting something on the line. More than the effort and time they have given for practices and conditioning, these players are risking their selves and also their livelihood (if ever they get injured during the games).

The NBA players mentioned above form only a part of the whole "sacrifice aspect" of the Olympics. But is representing your country that important? that some of the worlds most successful athletes still continue to risk a lot...and i mean a lot for the sake of such cause?
